Description  

This four day, fast paced workshop is designed for IT Professionals and Developers needing effective skills transfer for the new products and technologies delivered with the next version of Microsoft Office 2007.

You will have the opportunity for 'hands-on' experience to Develop, Customise and Integrate solutions on the Office 2007 Platform.

This four day workshop will be focused on:

1. Customising and Exploring the integration between Office Client Tools and Sharepoint V3 solutions.

2. Delivering Workflow based solutions right to the Office 2007 Client and how you can benefit from using Windows Workflow Foundation in Sharepoint V3.

3. Customising and Developing Sharepoint V3 based solutions, including creating site/portal wide event handlers, custom page layouts and creating CMS based Sharepoint sites.

Prerequisites:

Before attending this workshop, students should be familiar with Windows Sharepoint Services 2003 and Sharepoint Portal Server 2003. Development experience using VB.Net or C# would be an advantage.

This workshop covers an architectural quick-start of Sharepoint 2007. Whilst there are some modules that cover development, being an experienced developer is not a prerequisite, as to the non developer these modules will show you what can be customised through development.

Implement and extend Microsoft Office client side solutions.

Implement custom workflows developed in Visual Studio .Net 2005

Architect the ‘Portal’ and sub-sites layouts and best strategies.

Know what the best practices are within the Sharepoint Space.

Create custom WebParts and Sharepoint customizations with ease.

Create Site wide features and event handlers.

Create implement InfoPath Forms based solutions using the new InfoPath Forms Server.

Explore Excel Services and Business Intelligence Offerings.

Module 1: Developer Roadmap
•         The evolution of the Microsoft Office platform
•         Sharepoint Architecture evolution from day dot.
•         Discusses major architectural improvements in Sharepoint 2007


Module 2: WSS 3.0 Architecture
•         Discover the new and improved Sharepoint architecture.
•         Learn how to extend and custom a standard Sharepoint site
•         Implement site wide features that are inherited throughout the Sharepoint infrastructure.
•         Mobile aware sites out of the box.


Module 3: WSS Storage
•         Explore the SharePoint storage mechanism for additional areas such as workflows, persistence, user profiles, ‘mysites’ and how they have changed since Sharepoint V2.
•         Index columns and improve performance within lists and lookups.


Module 4: Developing, Customizing and Deploying WSS Applications
•         All the pain of Sharepoint V2 is gone in Sharepoint 2007.
•         Use Master Pages and ‘Dynamic Template’ switching.
•         Create effective customizations.


Module 5: Core WSS 3.0 Development
•         Discover the Sharepoint 2007 APIs
•         Access lists and WebServices to integrate with Sharepoint 2007.


Module 6: Building InfoPath 2007 Solutions
•         Create solutions based on InfoPath forms.
•         Host InfoPath forms in WinForms, ASP.NET and mobile platforms.
•         Use the new Sharepoint InfoPath Forms Server to convert InfoPath forms to ASP.NET pages viewable by all.


Module 7: Windows Workflow Foundation Integration
•         Create custom workflows based on Sharepoint 2007 and Windows Workflow Foundation using Sharepoint Designer and Visual Studio 2005.NET
•         Examine Sharepoint 2007 Workflow Implementation and criteria for workflows.


Module 8: Creating Portal Applications
•         Examine Portal Specific aspects such as: Shared Services, effective Search configurations, index performance and custom property additions.
•         Determine the appropriate ‘Portal’ wide navigation structure.


Module 9: Web Content Management
•         Upgrade existing MCMS repositories
•         Create Content Managed Sharepoint 2007 pages that revolve around standard company workflow.
•         Examine version and revision history.


Module 10: Excel Services and Reporting in the Portal
•         Create web-based Excel solutions
•         Examine the Report Centre and various KPIs that can be leveraged from that environment.
•         Add SQL Reporting Server reports.
